JUMPING TARGETS HIGHLIGHTS TOP STATES FOR GUN OWNERSHIP

Some U.S. states are more gun ownership friendly than others. For example, Arizona, Kentucky and Georgia encourage gun ownership and shooting sports are very popular within these states. Other states, such as New York, Connecticut and California have continually fought individuals via legislation to restrict the purchase and possession of firearms.

To determine what states were and were not gun ownership friendly, states were ranked based on the following categories:

Right-to-Carry – Each state’s laws were analyzed based on whether individuals were permitted to carry handguns, albeit it openly or concealed. This also included if individuals could carry with or without permits. Any restrictive state laws that prohibited carrying in certain establishments, such as banks, restaurants and parks, were analyzed. A perfect score were states such as Wyoming and Arizona, which allowed permitless carry, but also included “shall issue” permits for reciprocal permit states.
Sporting Rifles – Scores were also based on municipalities that had restrictions on semiautomatic firearms that were not regulated by the National Firearms Act of 1934, otherwise known as the NFA. These restrictions analyze the magazine capacity, including bans on required registrations, cosmetic features, including pistol grips, bayonet lugs and folding buttstocks.

NFA – Suppressors, machine guns, short-barreled rifles and shotguns can be legally owned in certain states. Other states restrict these items or require complicated paperwork. States were assessed according to those that did not restrict ownership or require Chief Law Enforcement Officers to sign licensing documents.

Castle Doctrine – States that allow the use of force to prevent death and promoted self-defense are given high scores. Any states that restricted citizen’s rights to bear arms for self-defense purposes are given the lowest scores.

Miscellaneous – This final category included several different constitutional provisions, including percentage of gun ownership, state firearm law preemption, shooting range protection statues, state constitutional provisions, availability of ranges and access to shooting sports, including hunting.

JUMPING TARGETS PROMOTES LIVING “REAL” LIFE DREAMS

When “Top Gun” was released in 1986, Navy recruiters lined up outside cinemas across the U.S. and men, in an adrenaline-induced daze, quickly signed up to join the military. Their dreams, which focused on becoming a Top Gun pilot and women chasing after them, soon became a stark reality. Most of the men were assigned to anti-climatic enlisted jobs that involved working in linguistics departments, medical facilities, becoming EMTs, working on airplanes, etc.
After men watched the movie, reports showed that careers of wanting to become a Naval Aviator increased by an astounding 500-percent. However, very few military personnel can complete Top Gun training and actually succeed in Flight School.
So, in 1986 men were living the daydream of becoming Navy pilots. Now, they are living the daydream of being Mark Wahlberg in “The Lone Survivor” or Bradley Cooper in “American Sniper.” As always, military movies draw controversy from many groups on both political sides.
Whether these movies are completely accurate or fictionalized with a Hollywood spin, men always leave the movie theater feeling an intense range of emotions, but mostly with an adrenaline rush. It does not mean that men want to go out, steal a Navy jet, and fly it or that they want to literally become a sniper. It is equivalent to women watching a romance and feeling giddy with delight and happiness. In fact, psychologists would explain it as the brain’s pleasure center, which is similar to the enjoyment or pleasure some people find playing video games.
The next time your significant other comes home from watching the latest sniper or war movie in the theater, pumped for action and feeling as though he has found his calling in the world, instead of immediately joining the military, highlighted below are some helpful, non-career changing alternatives.
To help men feel as though they are living the dream, buy them the downsized version. Jumping Targets offers AR500 Steel Small SniperBot Metal Shooting Targets. GUN TARGETS HELP IMPROVE SHOOTING SKILLS

Jumping Targets offers award-winning tips for shooters that want to boost their shooting skills and improve their accuracy.

  • Gear – Shooters should always know their gear before embarking on a hunt, shooting excursion or casual expedition. To help them prepare, they should spend time with their rifles, scopes and other elements of the weapon, including the rifle’s action, cartridge feeding mechanisms, accuracy, cleaning the gun, etc.
  • 22LR – To help practice with cheap ammunition, shooters should consider purchasing an inexpensive .22LR. Ammunition for this weapon is mere pennies per round, and while it is not a replacement for shooting with a rifle, it does help shooters get back in the hunting or shooting mode. In fact, it helps expert shooters improve their shooting with center-fire ammunition.
  • Shape – Before embarking on any type of outdoor adventure, it is important that people get in shape. Breathing and pulse are significant factors when shooting from any field position. It is important to be able to keep these body conditions in check, especially when hunting for small or large game. Additionally, it is healthier for the body to not be gasping for oxygen when trying to take an accurate rifle shot. Slow, steady breaths are healthy so people may consider joining a gym, going through home exercise DVDs, purchasing an exercise bike, going for daily walks with their pets or children or other types of exercise to help improve their overall body condition.
  • Sighting In Rifles – Bullet shape and weight are significant factors, as these determine where the bullet hits several hundred yards down range. When sighting in a weapon, determine the exact ammunition that will be used when hunting. Bore sighting is never a substitute for sighting with hunting ammunition or with live ammunition at a hunting range.
  • Practice Shooting – To help mimic real life shooting positions, shooters should try shooting from field positions. If hunters want to prepare for hunting season, they should shoot from bipods and other accuracy aids that they may use when hunting in the outdoors. This will help improve their accuracy and give them results that are more fluid.
  • Limitations – All shooters need to know their limitations. Even though modern optics and ammunition claims it is theoretically possible to shoot game from more than six or seven football lengths away, it does not mean it is sportsmen-like and it is also not worth wounding an animal without a fatal shot. Ultimately, if a hunter does not feel comfortable taking a shot, he/she should take a step back and not take the shot.
  • Steel Shooting TargetsJumping Targets offers steel gun targets that are made of high-grade AR500 steel. Offering immediate results, these moving targets are ideal for hunters shooting at short or long distances and allow shooters to dramatically improve their aim and accuracy.
